How to Set Up Your Email on Android Using IMAP

This guide shows you how to set up your Miss Hosting email account on an Android phone using IMAP. You’ll configure the incoming and outgoing mail server settings and connect your email account.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • Your full email address.

  • Your email account password.

  • Your mail server or cPanel server name.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Open Settings

  1. Open Settings on your Android phone.

  2. Select Accounts.

2. Add a New Account

  1. Select Add account.

  2. Choose IMAP account.

3. Enter Your Email Address

Enter your full email address, for example:

Enter the password for your email account.


5. Configure Incoming Mail (IMAP)

Enter the following settings:

mail.yourdomain.xxx or your cPanel server name

SSL/TLS (accept all certificates)

993 with SSL/TLS, or 143 without security

💡 Tip: You can find your cPanel server name in your Miss Hosting welcome email.

6. Configure Outgoing Mail (SMTP)

Enter the following settings:

Your full email address, e.g. [email protected]

7. Save Your Settings

Save the account to finish the setup.

You can optionally adjust settings such as:

  • Sync frequency

  • Notifications

  • Signature

You can leave these at their default values if you prefer.

Troubleshooting

The account cannot connect to the mail server.

Check that your email address, password, server name, security type, and port are entered correctly.

You don't know your cPanel server name.

Check your Miss Hosting welcome email for the server name.
