PrivateVPN for Android: Troubleshooting Connection Issues

This guide explains how to troubleshoot PrivateVPN connection issues on Android by changing VPN settings and sharing connection logs with support.

Troubleshooting Steps

1. Connect Using a Different VPN Protocol

  1. Open the PrivateVPN app and tap Menu.

  2. Select VPN Settings.

  3. Tap VPN Protocol.

  4. Select OpenVPN (TCP+443).

  5. Return to the main screen.

  6. Tap the ON/OFF button to reconnect.







2. Enable StealthVPN

  1. Tap Menu, then select VPN Settings.

  2. Enable StealthVPN.

  3. Return to the main screen and try connecting again.




3. Change the StealthVPN Port

Note: This method applies only when StealthVPN is enabled.

  1. Tap Menu, then select VPN Settings.

  2. Change StealthVPN Port to 443.

  3. Return to the main screen and try connecting again.




4. Send the Connection Log to Support

If you're still experiencing connection issues, send the connection log to our support team so they can investigate the problem.

  1. Tap Menu, then select VPN Settings.

  2. Select Connection Log.

  3. Tap Copy Log.

  4. Email the copied log to [email protected].
