How to Change Your Email Account Password in cPanel

This guide shows you how to change the password for an email account in cPanel. You’ll update the password from the Email Accounts section and save the new settings.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • Access to your cPanel account.

  • Access to the email account you want to update.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Log in to cPanel

Log in to cPanel from your Client Area.

2. Open Email Accounts

In the Email section, click Email Accounts.

3. Select the Email Account

Find the email account you want to update and click Manage.

4. Change the Password

  1. Scroll to the Security section.

  2. Click Generate to create a strong password, or enter your own password.

  3. If you use a generated password, copy and save it somewhere secure.

5. Save the New Password

Scroll to the bottom and click Update Email Settings.

Troubleshooting

I forgot my new password.

If you generated a password and did not save it, repeat the steps above and create a new password.
