How to Import a Database in cPanel

This guide shows you how to import an existing MySQL database into cPanel using phpMyAdmin.

Before You Start

You will need:

  • An active Miss Hosting web hosting package.

  • Access to cPanel.

  • A database created in cPanel.

  • A .sql database file ready to import.

1. Log in to cPanel

2. Open phpMyAdmin

  • Scroll down to the Databases section.

  • Click phpMyAdmin.

3. Select Your Database

  • In the left-hand menu, find and click the database you want to import the data into.

4. Import the Database File

  • Click the Import tab.

  • Click Choose File.

  • Select your .sql file from your computer.

  • Review the import settings if needed.

  • Click Import or Go to start the import.

⚠️ Common Issues

If the .sql file is too large, the import may fail or time out.

Result

Your database has now been imported into the selected database through phpMyAdmin in cPanel.
