How to Create a MySQL Database in cPanel

This guide shows you how to create a MySQL database and database user in cPanel.

Before You Start

You will need:

  • An active Miss Hosting web hosting package.

  • Access to cPanel.

1. Log in to cPanel

2. Open MySQL Databases

  • Scroll down to the Databases section.

  • Click MySQL® Databases.

3. Create a New Database

  • Under Create New Database, enter a name for your database.

  • Click Create Database.

4. Create a Database User

  • Scroll down to the MySQL Users section.

  • Enter a username.

  • Create a secure password.

  • Click Create User.

5. Assign the User to the Database

  • Find Add User To Database.

  • Select the database and the user you created.

  • Click Add.

  • Select the required privileges and save the changes.

💡 Tip: If you are installing an application such as WordPress, make sure the database user has the permissions required by the application.

Result

You have now created a MySQL database, created a database user, and assigned the user to the database in cPanel.
