🌐 Edit or Create DNS Records in cPanel

DNS records control how your domain works on the internet – for example, where your website points or which server handles your email. This guide shows you how to easily add, edit, or delete DNS settings in cPanel.

📝 Step-by-Step

1. Log in to cPanel

2. Open Zone Editor

  • Scroll down to the “Domains” section.

  • Click “Zone Editor”.

3. Select Domain

  • Click “Manage” next to the domain you want to edit.

4. Manage DNS Records

Here you can:

  • Add new records (click “Add Record”)

  • ✏️ Edit existing records (click “Edit”)

  • Delete records (click “Delete”)

When adding a new record, fill in:

  • Type: Choose the record type (e.g., A, CNAME, MX, TXT).

  • Name: The domain or subdomain.

  • Record/Value: The IP address or other required information.

  • Then click “Save Record”.

📘 Common DNS Records

  • A Record – Points a domain or subdomain to an IP address.

  • CNAME Record – Creates an alias pointing to another domain (which has an A record).

  • MX Record – Specifies which server handles your email.

  • SPF (TXT Record) – Defines which servers are allowed to send email for your domain (helps prevent spam).

  • TXT Record – Often used for domain verification or additional settings.

✅ Done!

You now know how to manage your DNS settings in cPanel. Please note: changes can take up to 24–48 hours to propagate across the internet.
