๐ŸŒ Configure Nameservers in WHM

To fully use your server, you need to configure nameservers. In WHM, you can easily choose the software, set up names, and register your nameservers with your registrar.

๐Ÿ“ Step-by-Step

1. Choose Nameserver Software

  • Go to Nameserver Selection in WHM.

  • We recommend choosing Bind.

2. Go to Basic Setup

  • Open Server Configuration โ†’ Basic cPanel & WHM Setup.

  • Scroll to the bottom of the page to the section where you can enter nameservers.

  • You must set up at least two nameservers (unless you selected Disabled earlier).

3. Name Your Nameservers

When naming your nameservers, keep these rules in mind:

  • The name must follow the format prefix + dot + your domain (e.g., ns1.yourdomain.com).

  • Common choices are ns1 and ns2.

  • Each nameserver must have a unique name.

  • Use names that reflect your business or website, since customers may need to enter them manually.

4. Assign IP Addresses

  • Assign an IP address to each nameserver.

  • We recommend using different IP addresses for each.

  • Make sure the domain used for your nameservers also has an account in WHM.

5. Register Nameservers with Your Registrar

  • After configuring them in WHM, you must register the nameservers with your registrar.

  • This step is not done in WHM/cPanel.

  • If your domain is registered with Miss Hosting โ†’ contact our support team, and weโ€™ll help you.

โœ… Done!

Youโ€™ve now configured nameservers in WHM. Once registered with your registrar, they will become visible and usable across the internet.
