Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
Access to your cPanel account.
The domain or page you want to redirect.
The full URL of the destination.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Log in to cPanel
Log in to cPanel from your Client Area.
2. Open Redirects
In cPanel, scroll down to the Domains section.
Click Redirects.
3. Choose the Redirect Type
Select the redirect type from the dropdown menu:
301 Permanent Redirect – Use this when a page or domain has permanently moved.
302 Temporary Redirect – Use this when the redirect is temporary.
4. Enter the Domain and Destination
Select the domain you want to redirect.
If you’re redirecting a specific page or folder, enter the path in the field next to the domain.
Enter the full destination URL in Redirects to, for example,
https://www.newdomain.com.
💡 Tip: Always include the protocol (http:// or https://) in the destination URL.
5. Choose the www Setting
Select how you want cPanel to handle the www version of your domain:
Redirect only with www – Redirects only URLs that include
www.Redirect with or without www – Redirects both versions.
Do not redirect www – Does not redirect the
wwwversion.
6. Enable Wildcard Redirect (Optional)
Enable Wildcard Redirect if you want subpages to redirect to their equivalent path on the new domain.
For example:
www.example.com/about → www.newdomain.com/about
If wildcard redirect is disabled, visitors are redirected to the destination you specified without preserving the original path.
7. Create the Redirect
Click Add to save the redirect.
Summary
Your redirect is now active. Visitors who access the original URL will be automatically sent to the destination you configured.
