How to Add and Configure Products in Your Store

This guide shows you how to add a product and configure its details, images, pricing, categories, and inventory settings in your store.

Prerequisites / Requirements

Before you start, make sure you have:

  • A product name and description.

  • At least one product image.

  • A product price.

  • Product information such as weight or stock quantity, if applicable.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Add a New Product

  1. Open your Store.

  2. Go to the Products tab in the sidebar.

  3. Click Add Product.

2. Add the Product Title and Description

Enter the following:

  • Product Title: Use a short, clear, and descriptive name.

  • Product Description: Add detailed information about the product.

You can use the formatting tools to add headings, lists, bold text, and other formatting.

3. Add Product Images

  1. Click the + button under Product Images.

  2. Upload one or more images.

  3. If you have uploaded multiple images, hover over the image you want to use as the main image.

  4. Click the ⋮ menu.

  5. Select Set as main image.

The main image is used as the product's preview image in the store.

💡 Tip: Use clear, high-quality images that show the product from useful angles.


4. Add Categories and Tags

Add categories and tags to help customers find your product more easily.

  1. Find the category and tag options at the top right of the product page.

  2. Select or add the relevant categories and tags.

  3. Update them whenever needed.

5. Set the Product Price

  1. Enter the product's price.

  2. Check that the correct currency is selected.

If you need to change the currency, go to Store Settings > Basic Settings > Currency and Format.

If VAT is enabled for your store, select the appropriate VAT rate for the product.

6. Add Product Information

Add additional product information where applicable:

  • Weight: Enter the product's weight if you use weight-based shipping.

  • SKU: Add a unique article number if SKU is enabled under Basic Settings > Sorting and Inventory.

7. Configure Inventory

You can optionally track your product inventory.

  1. Enter the number of units currently in stock.

  2. Set a stock threshold if you want to receive an email notification when stock is low.

  3. Decide whether customers can purchase the product when the stock reaches zero.

  4. Enable Allow purchases when stock is 0 if you want to continue accepting orders.

⚠️ Important: If purchases are not allowed when stock reaches zero, the product cannot be ordered until you update the stock quantity.

Troubleshooting / FAQs

Which fields are required?

The required fields are:

  • Product Name

  • Product Description

  • Product Image

  • Price

Other product settings are optional.

How do I change the main product image?

Upload multiple images, hover over the image you want to use, click the ⋮ menu, and select Set as main image.

Why can't customers order a product?

If inventory tracking is enabled and the stock reaches zero, the product cannot be ordered unless Allow purchases when stock is 0 is enabled.

Do I need to add a SKU?

No. A SKU is optional and is only available if SKU management is enabled in your store settings.

Do I need to enter the product weight?

Only if you use weight-based shipping. The weight is then used to calculate the shipping cost.
