How to improve your website's ranking in search engines

Updated this week

📈 What is SEO?

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) involves enhancing your website's ranking in search engines by including content and information that search engines look for.

Ranking is influenced by several factors, including:

  • Links from other websites

  • High-quality and relevant content

A good place to start learning about SEO is Moz's beginner guide.

⚙️ How to Adjust Your SEO Details

  1. Click on Menu and Settings.

  2. Select Website Health and SEO.

Here, you can set:

  • Title: The default title for each page. Use unique page titles to help search engines index better.

  • Language: The primary language of your website.

  • Description: A brief summary that appears in search results and helps visitors understand what your page is about.

✍️ Description Tips

  • Keep the description concise, preferably under 150 characters.

  • Be brief and informative.

🔑 Keywords and Tips

What are keywords?

Words or phrases that link your content to relevant searches.

Tips:

  • Use keywords consistently across your website — in content, page titles, and SEO settings.

  • Update keywords regularly.

  • Choose keywords that truly describe your website, not just popular terms.

  • Avoid overusing keywords.

📝 SEO for Each Page (Page Settings)

Each page needs basic SEO information:

  1. Click on More (⋮) next to the page you want to edit.

  2. Select Edit Page Settings.

Here, you can set:

  • Page Title: The title displayed on the page and in the browser tab, e.g., "Mountain Tours – Contact Us".

  • URL: The page's URL; usually, you can leave this as is.

  • Page Status: Want to hide the page (e.g., if it's not ready)? Set the status to offline.

  • Keywords: A few descriptive words for the page — don't use too many and avoid repetition.

  • Description: A short text displayed in search results.

  • Hidden from Navigation: Don't want to show the page in the menu? Check this box.

  • Set as Homepage: Make this page your website's homepage.
