If you have a domain registered with another provider, you can move, or transfer, the domain to us. Then we manage the domain and make sure to renew and point it correctly with us. We recommend this for all our customers.

A domain name is typically transferred using a so-called authorization code (also called auth code, epp code) that only the owner of the domain has access to. You can check who is listed as the owner of a domain via whois.

A transfer can take anywhere from a day to a week to complete.

Here's how to move a domain to Miss Hosting from another provider (.se .com .net .org .info .biz .nu .eu .no)

  1. Contact the current domain provider (or use a web interface with them) to unlock the domain name (if necessary) and to obtain an authorization code.

  2. Create a case with a request for transfer and re-pointing. Don't forget to specify your authorization code.

  3. When the transfer has started, we will notify you. You may need to confirm the transfer with your current domain provider, for example by clicking on a link in an email they send out. In some cases, an email is sent from us (via Nordreg) to the contact address specified in whois.

  4. When the transfer is complete, we start the re-pointing to us and notify you. It then takes 24-48 hours for your domain to fully work with us.

Important: Note that 60 days must have passed since the domain was registered or last updated in order for authorization codes to be sent out for domain names under .com .net .org .info .biz .nu and .eu.
