How to Create a Table in Sitebuilder

This guide shows you how to create and edit a simple table in Sitebuilder using the Text widget.

Prerequisites / Requirements

Before you start, make sure you have:

  • Access to your website in Sitebuilder.

  • A page where you want to add the table.

  • The information you want to add to the table.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Add a Text Widget

  1. Open the page where you want to add the table.

  2. Click Add Content.

  3. Select Text.

  4. Place the Text widget where you want the table to appear.

2. Create the Table

  1. Click inside the text editor.

  2. Click the Table icon on the far right.

  3. Choose the number of columns and rows.

  4. Click Create Table.

The table will appear inside the Text widget.

3. Add and Format Content

Once the table has been created:

  1. Click inside a cell and enter your content.

  2. Select text to apply formatting such as:

    • Bold

    • Italic

    • Links

  3. You can also copy and paste content from Excel or Google Sheets.

šŸ’” Tip: Formatting copied from Excel or Google Sheets may need to be adjusted after pasting.

Table Design

Tables use the design settings selected for your website, so you cannot manually change the font or text color inside the table.

The following table settings are currently not available:

  • Background color

  • Borders

  • Width

  • Height

  • Text size

šŸ’” Note: Advanced styling may require HTML editing.

Mobile Responsiveness

Tables are generally mobile responsive:

  • The table scales down to fit the screen.

  • Text wraps within cells.

āš ļø Tip: Wide tables may be difficult to read on very narrow screens. If your table contains many columns, consider using fewer columns or splitting the information into multiple smaller tables.

Limitations

Sitebuilder tables are designed for simple, static information. They do not include advanced spreadsheet features.

Currently, you cannot:

  • Sort table data.

  • Filter table data.

  • Perform calculations.

  • Use a separate table settings panel like in Word or Excel.

  • Apply advanced table styling through the standard editor.

Tables work well for price lists, comparisons, and other structured information, but they are not intended to function as spreadsheets.

Before Publishing

Check that:

  • The table is easy to read on mobile devices.

  • The header row is clearly visible.

  • Content copied from Excel or Google Sheets is displayed correctly.

  • The table contains only the columns and information you need.

Summary / Next Steps

You can create a simple table by adding a Text widget and using the Table function in the text editor.

Tables are suitable for displaying structured information, but advanced features such as sorting, calculations, and extensive styling are not available.
