How to embed custom HTML?

Do you wish you could add your Instagram feeds, reservation and booking programs, or even playlists to your website? No problem, this is among the things you can use the HTML block for.

What do you need to consider?

HTML is considered an external add-on, so we recommend using add-ons from a secure source. Unfortunately, we do not provide support for HTML codes. Therefore, if you choose to use it on your website, it is at your own risk.

It's important to note that your HTML code can affect the design and functionality of your website. To achieve the best possible result, we recommend using an iframe when encapsulating your code. This ensures that the code does not affect anything else on the website, so you can be sure that everything will appear as intended.

How do I do it?

We will use Instagram as an example:

  1. Log in to www.instagram.com directly in your browser.

  2. Select a profile and post. Click on "[...]".

  3. Choose "Embed".

  4. Copy the "embed code".

  5. Log in to your Site Builder.

  6. Add the "Embed" function as a widget.'

  7. Paste the "embed code" here and "save".

Done!

There you go, you have added your new HTML block to your website. Does the preview of the code look strange? Try publishing your website, and everything should appear correctly on your published site.

What can you include with an HTML block?

Of course, we want you to use and appreciate the functionality of an HTML block, so here are some suggestions for what you can include:

  1. Reviews - Using platforms like Tripadvisor, you can display customer reviews.

  2. Blog feed - If you have a blog and want to display your blog feed, you can do so using the HTML block.

  3. Social media feeds - If you want to display your feed from some of your social media platforms on your website, you can use HTML to add an add-on. Some examples are Lightwidget (Instagram), Twitter feed, or your Facebook feed.

  4. Playlists - If you enjoy music or want to share your own music, you can link your favorite playlist or other music directly to Spotify using the HTML block.

  5. Booking systems - Allow your customers to book appointments with you through your website by using a booking system. We highly recommend Sirvoy for accommodation bookings or "Book Now" and Timecenter for other reservations.
